DRU is one of Europe’s leading fireplace companies, encompassing a huge portfolio of gas, electric, wood and bioethanol fires and stoves. Established in the Netherlands in 1754, its UK subsidiary Drugasar has been active in the UK commercial and domestic heating sectors since 1975.
In the 1930s, DRU developed the balanced flue system, which has become a standard operating system for many millions of gas heating appliances worldwide.
Since the start of the 21st century, DRU has designed and produced a range of contemporary gas fires based on the balanced flue system, with a wide selection of designs, sizes and capacities. DRU has also developed its Global range of mid-priced gas fires, which include conventional flue models that are compatible with UK chimneys and a unique cavity wall gas fire for homes built since the 1960s.
In 2008, DRU acquired the Dutch wood stove company Dik Geurts. It now designs and produces a wide range of woodburning stoves and fires under the Dik Geurts brand, which are renowned for their high standards of performance and sustainability.
More recently, DRU has merged with the German woodburning manufacturer Spartherm, introducing a huge additional portfolio of woodburning and bioethanol fires and stoves.
DRU will be displaying a selection of products from its Dik Geurts wood stoves, its DRU designer gas fires and its Virtuo Evolve electric fires. This will include live burning and static displays in the company’s distinctive gazebo in the outdoor area of the exhibition.
In the UK, DRU fireplaces are distributed by its fully owned subsidiary Drugasar, based in Swinton near Manchester. It supports its extensive dealer network with a team of experienced area account managers; a dedicated customer services division and technical support operatives covering the whole of Great Britain.
